Serena and I met in Sweden in swedish class. Italians and spanish usually get along easily and we fell perfectly in the norm. I freaked out how fast she was learning the language and my admiration has not changed at all till today. She is incredible. From not knowing a word of swedish, she finished nursery school, doing the whole degree in swedish, and now she is studying psychology..just a living example of sacrifice and determination.
Some time after finishing school, she told me she had got engaged and I felt really honoured of her choosing me to be the photographer of her intimate civil wedding in an such a beautiful location between the botanic garden and the pink castle of Uppsala.
This wedding was also special for its multicultural character. John, half swedish half sirian raised in Sweden and Serena, italian from Verona. It is always fun to see the cultural differences and how obvious get in the families interactions. How expressive are the italians in contrast with swedish more discreet and contained.
As for the day, it was a perfect autumn day and the whole ceremony was impregnated with a beautiful light. There were tears and laughter and I can not be more grateful and honoured for them to let me be a part of their big day!
