Professional Wedding Photographer based in Rennes

-rennes / saint malo / FRANCE / WORLDWIDE-

Hi! Im Cristina

I am a dreamer, and a nomad at heart.

Welcome to my website and thank you for taking your time to know a little more about me! I’m a Fine Art, and a traveling destination Wedding and Portrait photographer based in Rennes, French Brittany.

I’ve always been passionated by visual storytelling and conveying emotion through images. Real love stories are my favs. Im driven by the first look of a couple at their wedding, the way they whisper each other during the shooting, the warmth that transcends from their hug..ultimately the emotion that lies within the love bond of a couple.

Photography are our tangible memories turned eternal in still images. Thanks to them we can keep a more vivid memory of the meaningful moments of our lives.

My philosophy

To me, naturality is key and spontaneity the magic tool. I run away from posey photos as they ruin authenticity. My aim is to capture your relation in its real and raw nature. To reflect your real love and  deep connexion including moments ranging from the immense love contained in a kiss to a laughter attack.
But I have camera awareness and get shy!’, it’s quite common don’t worry. My job as a photographer goes beyond pressing the shutter button and suggesting poses. It is also to create a proper atmosphere and to give to my couples a warm place to my couples to be who they are for spontaneity to emerge. In that sense, although most of my day I document your day as it unfolds from a photojournalistic approach, during the couple’s portrait session I will attend you during the whole process in a very personal way, assisting and solving any question or concern you may have. Usually camera shyness vanishes within the first 5 mins, believe me 😉
I consider myself flexible and close, and I try to get to know and understand each couple to provide a work quality that matches and exceeds their expectations. Thanks to my job and my philosophy, I have had the chance of meeting wonderful people with whom I still keep a beautiful friendship.

How I got into photography?

   IT All started there ➡️

Just kidding, I remember my clown camera to be one of my fav toys but it did not take very accurate results so I’d just kept painting and drawing till a few years later..
Was at the age of 14 when I fell absolutely in love with photography in a landscape photo exhibition. I started digging in photography online learning platforms and I ended up borderline obsessed with recreating myself those amazing landscapes where to get lost, so I saved every penny for my first bridge camera and devoured all courses I could. Later on I got as well passionated with shooting humans and immersed into portrait and documentary urban and street photography. I was trapped. Every spare minute was to hang out with my camera. By the age of 15 I had realized that was going to be a lifetime serious relationship.

Ready to shoot you from 1988 😉

I’ve always been drawn into visual storytelling, painting, drawing, photography and in a nutshell, conveying emotion through images.
I graduated in Fine Arts at University Complutense of Madrid, where I studied photography 3 years specializing in social documentary photography and portrait in parallel to Fine Art Photography
uring my Erasmus studies exchange in Greece, I met my partner in crime, Panos, the most beautiful soul on earth, to whom I wanted to dedicate some words in my web and thank for being an unconditional support and an endless source of love. And was also that year of 2010 when I shot my first wedding. Little did I know before that first time that wedding photography would become such a an important part of my life after a friend of mine asked to do her wedding photography. I did it and it hooked me forever.

We moved together to the Uk on 2011, where I assisted a few full day weddings as a second shooter and soon started doing my own ones.

After Uk, we moved to Sweden where I worked for 6 years as a full time Press photographer for the main newspaper of my town, while running my wedding and corporate photography company. Now, we are based in Rennes, Brittany. And I’d like to tell you that I love travelling,  so no matter where your wedding is happening, if you connect with my work, I definitely invite you to reach out.

I have spent the last decade capturing love, and connecting with people through it makes my world go round. I love capturing emotions as they unfold in front of the lens and deepen into what lies within the bond of a couple. I adore love stories. My love for wedding photography is a living thing.
It also lets me combine the three key elements I always seek in an image; a story, room for creativity, and emotion.

What is the approach I will have at your wedding in Rennes?

During the last 12 years, photography has give me the opportunity to travel the world and to live and work in Spain, Greece, Uk, Sweden and France doing what I love. I had the opportunity to tell the story of hundreds of couples around Europe. And my two main passions: Documentary photography and Fine Art combined together have served me enormously in my wedding photography work.

My experience in Documentary photography has kept me always deeply connected with the most human and emotional side of photography. This  has led me to organically develop strong skills in sensing and anticipating to moments, being highly reactive at every moment.

And my passion for Fine Art photography and visual storytelling has a direct influence in the couple’s portrait session, and as well in my editing style and process. I give equal importance to the photography part as I give to the image development.  Before and afters.

Wedding photography is a historic document of a key moment in a family.

I am very aware of that and I develop my work from the understanding of what that day's unique moment, and those images mean to a couple and a family in the context of a lifetime.

Maybe now you are not really aware right now, but years down the road, my images will be something really important to you. You will go through them and see an image where your father is looking at you in tears of joy, or your grand ma is giving you her most warmth hug whispering you how much she loves you. Those images will then make total sense and allow you to travel back to such an special moment triggering those emotions you felt on your big day.
Is right at that moment when my work will have completed its purpose.

And that is exactly my goal with wedding photography; to generate a visual legacy not only of you as a couple, but of all those who will participate in one of the most important days of your lives

kind words

“”Where do I even begin !? We were absolutely amazed with the result of our wedding pictures..they were actually better than what we had dreamed of having. From the beginning she looked like reading our minds and knowing exactly what we wanted. The communication was perfect at every moment before the wedding also. During the wedding she was patient, funny and felt more like a friend than a photographer. We feel so grateful and lucky she was the one to capture our wedding!

seance romantique de mariage

Wether you have a dream destination to get married, or you do it at your home town and need the photographer you like to come to you, or you have an international guests wedding and want the photographer you like to be able to communicate efficiently in english, french, swedish or spanish, I’d love to join you. The three scenarios are my thing. I love traveling anywhere, everywhere.

Whether it’s in a big city capital, a small tiny village in the mountains, a sunbaked rooftop in Santorini, in the magical lights of New York City or in a cute vineyard in Italy, I got you. If your ideal wedding takes place in a spot that you’ve always dreamed of, I’m THERE.
