Rennes Wedding Photography

Wedding photography is a historic document about a key moment in the life of a family.
I develop my work from the understanding of what that unique moment and that image mean to a couple and a family in the context of a lifetime.

When the day is over, photographs will be the only thing we will have left along with our memories. No one talks about the food they had at the wedding 10 years down the road, or the music that was played. They will go back and look at their wedding photographs.

How do you imagine the photos that will tell your story?

🙂

Style

I often get asked how I create reportages that stand out in today´ s highly competitive wedding  market. Answer is that I am a Fine art wedding photographer and tackle from a Fine Art mindset every image I create,  from the shooting till the end of the reportage’ s  postproduction.
Ultimately, my goal is to make timeless, vibrant, energetic fine art images that are as unique as the people in the photographs. Photographs without a shelf life

Working with people who see our time together as an opportunity to create art, completely inspires me.

Approach

Capturing an honest story of your day is my main approach. I do use my skills to handle lighting in order to enhance the emotion and feeling of the moment, but authenticity is priority.

During the major part of the day, I work with a photojournalism approach, and document the day as it happens. There will actually be some special moments during your day which you will only discover once you receive your images.

There is yet a segment of the day such as the couple´ s private portrait session, where, always prioritizing naturalness, I will lead a more set up type of shooting- finding the most flattering light, perspective and frame where to place my couples, to make them stand or walk, and interact with each other naturally-. They may hear some pose suggestion while they enjoy themselves, but they will do just what feels natural to them.  I absolutely run away from posy photos. Here, every laugh, every spontaneous kiss, every hug, every sight is real.

I give special importance to my models to be comfortable and at ease. I really look after my brides and grooms who are real people not accustomed to being professionally photographed. Fortunately by experience, these couples usually take an average of 5-7 minutes  to lose the camera awareness and feel relaxed (promise, is always like that ;)) I also do care about not only the result pictures but their experience in the shooting.
I aim for them to feel well cared and to enjoy as much as I do.

A type of situation where sometimes I may intervene occasionally is in the getting ready capturing details, and I, will let know my couples  about beautiful stops where they can stand. Then I step back to let the moments and interactions  unfold naturally. I find that this makes my couples comfortable, while still allowing for true documentary of the day.

As for the rest of the wedding day, I usually keep a photojournalistic approach. I am an observer and I document the day as it happens. I deeply enjoy the fast moving phenomenon that is a wedding, where you have to be eyes wide open all the time to not miss things that happen in a fraction of second; a sight, a smile, that a hug or a facial expression in reaction to a surprise. I become invisible and reflect those instants choosing in every shoot the best perspective and light angle in an absolutely non-obtrusive approach. I intervene only when necessary to optimize composition or posing like when setting up family and friend pictures.

Regarding the wedding preparation time, I will be present and happily available to accompany you through every detail of the photography part, but also advise you on vendors, or give you tips if you need them during the exciting, yet sometimes stressful moments of the wedding preparation period. I like to create with my couples a relation where they can feel trust.

What type of weddings do you photograph?

During the last 10 years I have had the opportunity to live and work in Spain, Greece, UK, Sweden and France, and tell the story of over 350 awesome couples ranging in a wide variety of styles and types. A large number of them were covered in Sweden, where I lived and worked for years before moving to France in 2019.

My couples and weddings range in a really eclectic spectrum: I have accommodated in 300 guests wedding to true elopements of just two. I have done civil, religious, LGBT, non LGBT, in the seaside, in forests, from the yard of a summer house to a huge and fancy castle, in a boat, in the lake, in the city hall..! I can not chose one type over another. Each and every single one has their elements that makes it unique.

As for me, whether it’s a full wedding or an engagement session, I will give all of myself to produce for you the best reportage possible.
